A pervert with a foot fetish who sucked the toes of his teenage victim as she tried to sleep has been jailed.
The unsuspecting 17-year-old was startled when Stewart Mackay suddenly began licking her feet at a home in Canterbury.
The 43-year-old has now been jailed for 10 months at Canterbury Crown Court.
The victim, who managed to flee the drunken pervert mid-attack, has been left “constantly feeling on edge” when visiting the city.
Judge Mark Weekes told Mackay: “On the evening in question, as a consequence of consuming alcohol, at a point of that evening you took her toes into your mouth, that was a motion that caused her significant distress at the time.”
Mackay’s brave victim broke down in tears after telling a busy courtroom of her distress following the attack last summer.
Mackay diverted his eyes, refusing to look at her as she recalled the trauma.
“I’m really trying to move on with my life but I have issues over trust - I constantly feel on edge in case I see him again.
“I hope this stops soon as I just want to get on with my life,” she said.
The attack unfolded as the girl tried to sleep.
She managed to flee by rushing to the bathroom and locking Mackay outside, prosecutor Richard Hutchins said.
Phil Rowley, mitigating, said Mackay didn’t prey on the girl because she was young, but as a result of his “niche interest” in womens’ feet.
He said: “(He presents) as utterly ashamed, deeply remorseful, and thoroughly embarrassed by what he had done.
“There is no ducking the fact this conduct has had a huge impact on her.”
He added Mackay wishes to seek help for alcohol abuse, which he believes played a role in the attack.
Mackay, of Cornwall Gardens, Canterbury, pleaded guilty to sexual assault at magistrates’ court earlier this year.
The builder, who has 19 convictions for 32 offences, will be subject to a 10-year restraining order and notification requirements.
He could be seen waving to a friend in the public gallery before leaving the dock.
