A former Kent footballer described as talented and popular by loved ones died suddenly after playing in Dubai at the age of 35.
Alfie Nunn – who led the line for Canterbury City and Whitstable Town – is thought to have suffered a heart attack following a match in the Middle-East on Thursday.
Tributes have poured in for the striker, with his former sides describing him as a talented “fan favourite”.
A spokesman for Canterbury City said: “We are saddened to hear the news that former player Alfie Nunn has suddenly passed away.
“Alfie had a successful season with Canterbury and was a fan favourite although only being with the club for a short spell.
“Everybody at the club wishes to send their thoughts and condolences to Alfie's family at this sad time.
“Fly high, young man.”
This afternoon, the club will hold a minute’s silence ahead of their match against Fisher FC, who he also represented.
Alfie had moved to the United Arab Emirates a number of years ago to work for Dubai property firm Haus & Haus.
The estate agent grew up in south-east London, representing the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Primary Schools district side.
He then played for non-league Croydon FC as a teen, before running out for the likes of Stansfield, Beckenham Town and Fisher FC in Bermondsey.
The striker would then go on to have a short spell with Whitstable Town.
"Alfie was a popular and talented player. He will be fondly remembered..."
An official for the seaside club paid tribute to the attacker, saying he will be fondly remembered for his time on the coast.
“Everyone here is saddened by news of the tragic loss of former player Alfie Nunn, who we understand has passed away while playing football in Dubai at the age of 35,” he added.
“Our thoughts are with all of his family and friends at this time.

He made seven appearances for Whitstable at the start of the 2015-16 season, scoring two goals.
Former teammate Josh Algar says Alfie was a “great person and player” during his spell in the town.
A Fisher FC spokesman also said of the attacker: “Alfie made 21 appearances for us after signing in 2015, before departing for a spell at Canterbury City.
