ROBERT HESKINS: had suffered a head injury

KENT Police are following up new leads in their investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in a stream.

Members of the public have come forward with information after an appeal by detectives attempting to establish how 60-year-old Robert Heskins, from Canterbury, received a head injury in the city on Friday, August 24.

Mr Heskins was found at about 11.15pm lying by the pavement in Military Road, near where he lived, by a member of the public who called an ambulance. He was taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital and received treatment.

Six days later his body was discovered in a stream near the M20 at junction 10.

A post mortem examination showed that Mr Heskins died from immersion in water and a head injury. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.

Det Insp Ian Nundy said following the appeal for information, people have come forward who had not already been spoken to by officers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 01227 868241.
