A young girl is in a stable condition in a London hospital after she was hit by a car in Canterbury on Monday.
Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School pupil Georgina Pitt, 11, was walking along Nackington Road at 4pm to meet her father who teaches at the nearby Langton Boys' School.
Georgina, who lives in Eythorne, near Dover, was airlifted by the Kent Air Ambulance to the intensive care unit at Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.
The car driver was not hurt.
Police closed Nackington Road until 7.45pm.
A police spokesman said Georgina was in a stable condition.
