Girl, 9, needs oxygen after fire at Harbledown home

A girl suffered the effects of breathing in smoke after a fire in a Canterbury bathroom.

Fire crews were called to the property in Church Hill, Harbledown at just before 5pm last night.

The small fire was contained in the bathroom, but a nine-year-old girl needed oxygen after inhaling smoke.

A 19-year-old in the home did not need treatment.

Firefighters put out the blaze using a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus, and left at around 5.07pm.
