Free wheelchair tennis sessions are being held at Canterbury Indoor Tennis Centre on Sunday.
The aim is to give people with physical disabilities an opportunity to have a go at the fastest growing wheelchair sport, try out wheelchairs specially designed for tennis and learn basic racket skills.
The sessions follow a successful trial last Ocotber and are supported by Canterbury City Council’s sports development team, the Tennis Foundation, the Lawn Tennis Association and the Kent Sports Development Unit.
City council community sports assistant, Rebecca Ward, said: “Following on from the success of the British team at the Paralympics in Beijing, when they won a gold and a bronze medal, wheelchair tennis is becoming very popular.
“The taster session was well attended and we hope plenty of people will come along to take part or watch.”
The sessions take place between 4pm and 6pm and also on February 8 and 22 at the Canterbury Indoor Tennis Centre, Polo Farm Sports Club, Littlebourne Road, Canterbury.
