A helicopter was seen searching a city after concerns were raised for a woman’s welfare.

Police were called to the Thanington area of Canterbury this afternoon after the alarm was raised.

Social media users reported hearing the helicopter searching the area.

There were also some reports of police dogs at the scene - but these claims have not been confirmed.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to the Thanington area of Canterbury following a reported concern for a woman at about 3pm today.

“Officers attended and the woman was safely located.”
