Herne Bay manager Simon Halsey has finally got his man with the signing of Dan Wisker.
The former Margate midfielder completed his move from Whitstable Town on Tuesday and Halsey (pictured), who knows Wisker well from his coaching days at Belmont, said: "I am delighted that Dan has agreed to join us because he is a quality player and will fit in with our lads perfectly.
"He’s got a bit of presence about him. He’s a tough tackler but a good footballer as well.
"I tried to sign him in pre-season so it’s been a bit of a long haul but I’m sure he’s going to prove worth it."
Wisker, who was due to play for Bay reserves in their Kent Hurlimann League game against Lordswood reserves last night (Wednesday), said: ‘I’m pleased that Herne Bay have given me this opportunity and can’t wait to start repaying their confidence in me on the pitch."
He might not have long to wait because Halsey plans to put Wisker straight into his squad for Saturday’s FA Trophy preliminary round tie at home to Chatham Town.
