A Herne Bay teenager was stabbed in the back and stomach at a Thanet train station.
Officers were called to Westgate-On-Sea railway station around 4.30pm on Monday following reports of a fight between a group of people on the coastbound platform.
During the altercation, a 19-year old man was stabbed in the front and back with a screwdriver.
Paramedics were called and the man was taken to the QEQM Hospital in Margate, where his condition is described as stable.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening at this stage.
Det Sgt Leigh Marshall, of British Transport Police said:
“We are continuing to conduct local enquiries into the incident to establish a full picture of the circumstances, including looking at what took place before, during and after the incident.
“Following the incident, three men and a woman were reported to have left the scene. We are working to establish their identities as we believe they could hold key information about what took place.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or knows the identity of those responsible, is asked to come forward and contact police in confidence.”
