Appeal for witnesses to alleged sex attack in St George's Street, Canterbury

Police are trying to track down two witnesses who may have seen the victim of an alleged city centre sex attack.

A woman was reportedly sexually assaulted in the St George's Street area of Canterbury in the early hours.

The incident happened between 2.30am and 3am on Saturday, February 4.

A police spokesman confirmed an investigation into the incident is ongoing and detectives are urging anyone with information to contact them.

"Officers are particularly keen to hear from two people who may have spoken to or seen the victim around that time," they said.

"The first potential witness is described as a white woman with shoulder-length dark hair, who was wearing a pink hooded top and black combat-style trousers.

"The other potential witness is a black man, with a shaved head, who was wearing a green jumper, beige trousers and white trainers."
