Historic pub 'at risk'

CONSERVATION experts are becoming increasingly concerned at the deteriorating state of the Three Tuns pub in Canterbury.

The grade II listed, 17th century inn was put on a council 'buildings at risk’ register two years ago.

But this week the authority said little or nothing had been done since to stop the rot which is now clearly evident.

The building control department also fears the structure could pose a risk to the public from falling masonery.

David Kincaid from the council’s conservation section said it had contacted the owners of the pub, the Orchid Group with their concerns.
