The Home Secretary Sajid Javid says he fully supports Prime Minister Theresa May amid continued speculation about a challenge to her leadership.
Mr Javid arrived in Canterbury for a conference of Kent Conservatives this morning.
He said the PM had his full support and that she was doing a great job.
There have been reports that a group of five cabinet ministers are trying to persuade the PM to re-negotiate parts of the Brexit deal presented by her.
But Mr Javid sidestepped questions about whether he expected there to be a leadership challenge to Mrs May, as he left after addressing party members.
The day-long conference is due to hear from James Brokenshire and Kent MP Greg Clark, the business secretary.
The Gravesham MP Adam Holloway has joined those who have written to the chairman of the 1922 committee asking for a vote of no confidence but he is the only Kent MP to have done so.
