Horse rescued from water-filled dtich near Canterbury

A specialist team of firefighters has rescued a horse from a water-filled ditch near Canterbury this evening.

The animal, which is 14 hands high, fell in the ditch near its field in Westmarsh at about 5pm.

It was led to safety just before 6.30pm by animal rescue trained firefighters, using equipment designed for rescuing large animals.

The horse was returned to its field and left in the care of its owner.
