A main road was closed in both directions due to a crash involving a double-decker bus, two vans and a car.
The A28 Sturry Road, Canterbury was gridlocked near McDonald's following the incident this afternoon which left three people hurt.
Traffic information provider Inrix reported the bus crash was near Providence Place, adding: “Congestion to Canterbury and roads around Broad Oak are very busy.”
Multiple emergency service vehicles were called the scene, including four fire engines and a specialist height vehicle.
It was also reported that an air ambulance landed.
Stagecoach has released a statement on Twitter confirming the delays, posting: “Due to an road traffic accident at Sturry all our services are diverting via Broad oak until further notice.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
A police spokesperson said: “Officers, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where three people were treated for injuries that are not described as life threatening.
“They have been taken to hospital for further medical attention.
“The road will remain closed until the vehicles are recovered.”
