A student stressed by deadlines got himself in a spin – after putting his iPhone6 in the washing machine.
Indy Lehal could only watch hopelessly as the £400 smartphone spun slowly around the water-filled drum.
But a video of the gaffe has earned the University of Kent drama student online fame after attracting more than a million views on social media.

Self-confessed phone addict Indy, who lives in Canterbury city centre and works at Iconic, said: “I'd had an all-nighter with an assignment that was due in so I was pretty tired.
"I just had that moment of realisation and knew what I’d done.
“I didn’t even look for my phone – I knew I’d left it in my jeans and sure enough, there it was spinning around in the washing machine.
“Even though it was drowning, I could still see that WhatsApp messages were coming through as it spun round.
“I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, but I borrowed a friend’s phone to film it anyway.”
After an agonising wait for the cycle to end, Indy pulled the damaged phone from the machine, but it was beyond rescuing.
“I left it in rice to dry out and even tried pasta, but it was no good,” he said.
“I’ve had to get a new phone, but taken some comfort in the amazing reaction it’s had online.
“I still can’t believe the amount of views it’s had.”
