Investigation into blaze

Police are investigating an arson attack on a house in Canterbury in the early hours of Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to an empty terraced property in Vernon Place shortly before 2.30am where they found they front door alight.

They discovered that flammable material had been put through the letter box causing damage to the area and cellar.

The property was unoccupied and the flames quickly put out but the incident is being treated as a suspected arson.
