Invicta East Kent AC trio Rebecca Weston, Bobby and Alex Clay helped Great Britain claim team bronze at the World Cross-Country Championships in Poland on Sunday.
The trio (pictured) were part of the six-strong GB team to tackle the challenging 6km course in Bydgoszcz in sub-zero temperatures but bright sunshine, with the competitors having to contend with ice, mud, logs and a steep hill on the 2k loop.
GB were led home by Emelia Gorecka in 16th place overall in 19min 19sec, the first non-African runner home.
Bobby Clay was Britain’s fourth scorer in 27th place (19.45) and the fifth European finisher.
Weston was 33rd (20.00) and Alex Clay 35th (20.11) with the pair the sixth and seventh European finishers.
Weston admitted: "It was one of the best weekends of my life."
Great Britain team-mates Georgia Taylor-Brown and Amy Eloise Neale were 17th and 21st respectively.
The team’s 81 points enabled them to finish nine points clear of fourth-placed Japan and secure GB’s first medal at the championships in any event since 2004 and the first ever junior women’s medal.
Ethiopia were well clear in silver with Kenya taking the gold from the 15 competing nations.
