ACE golfer Chris Gay has chalked up his eighth hole-in-one.

The nine-handicapper from Canterbury achieved the feat on his home course last week and is wondering if it may be a record?

"I have now had one more than my good friend, John Farrier," said the 58-year-old who was Canterbury club captain in 1988.

"I wonder if this could be a record, if only among Canterbury members."
