Ten new jobs are being created at McDonald’s in Canterbury and in Sturry Road in a pilot scheme the company is running with the city Job Centre.
It says it wants to develop long term careers for the right candidates and is keen to create opportunities for those with few qualifications or disadvantaged backgrounds.
The recruitment drive will create 85 jobs across Kent but Canterbury McDonald’s franchise operator, Paul Crocker, says he is more interested in a candidate’s qualities than qualifications.
He added: "Our training provides a balance between on-the-job skills development as well as nationally recognised training for qualifications."
Candidates will be given the chance of an on-site work trial at the restaurant as part of their recruitment process.
