Knuckle-duster robbers target university

TWO thugs stole hundreds of pounds and punched a man in the face with a knuckle-duster during a robbery at Kent University at Canterbury.

They raided a finance office in the students’ union’s Mandela Building.

As they made off, one of the robbers punched a man in the face with the knuckle-duster. The pair then ran towards a path that runs alongside Eliot College.

Members of staff chased the raiders and they dropped £650, but still escaped with several hundred pounds. The exact amount of cash taken is not known.

One of the robbers is Asian, aged 20 to 25, had a stubbly face and was about 6ft tall. He was wearing a navy blue hooded top and baggy casual trousers.

The second man is white and about 5ft 10in tall. He was wearing a dark hooded top and a green scarf. He had the knuckle-duster in his right hand.

The incident happened at about 3.15pm on Monday. Anyone with information is asked to call Det Con Vicki Taylor on 01227 762055.
