Canterbury & District Football League officials have handed a cash boost to clubs to help them deal with mounting financial pressures during this stop-start season.
Secretary Bill Clark revealed the committee had agreed to return around £1,600 to clubs hit by postponements and the economic downturn.
The gesture will see each first team receive £50 while reserve sides will get £25.
Mr Clark said: "So many clubs are struggling with long periods of inactivity and a number of players having lost work, which has meant it is hard for them to pay match fees. We do not have a lot of money sitting in the bank but we wanted to try to help."
St Margaret’s have turned down the offer as they have their own ground but many teams face costs of around £100 for each match with fees for pitch hire and officials fees.
