Leon predicted Spain
would lift the cup

Feline football forecaster Leon has done it again by backing
Spain to beat Italy in the Euro final on Sunday night.

The mystic mog finished the contest with a near 90% success rate
after the Spaniards romped to a 4-0 victory.

Last week he correctly sniffed out the surprise result of
Italy beating Germany but got it wrong with his choice
of Portugal overcoming Spain.

Leon, who is a two-year-old Tonkinese, belongs to 45-year-old
caterer Ted Phillips, of Upper Chantry Lane, Canterbury.

The cat used to make his forecast by being given a variety
of bowls of food to choose from.

But in the later knock-out stages, Ted rigged up two pieces of
string from a stick of bamboo from which tempting
pieces of meat are dangled.

He has been betting £5 on Leon's forecasts and reckons he is
around £120 in profit, despite a couple of losses.

He said: "A friend of mine recently cycled the London to
Brighton ride for the British Heart Foundation so I will be
donating my winnings to her for that good cause."

He added: "It's true Leon went for the favourites but I don't
think anyone thought it was be so decisive."

Leon also has his own Twitter account and Ted says he may
forecast other future sporting events. He can be followed at
