A NEW church group is inviting people to worship with them – in a city centre bar over a drink.
Canterbury Vineyard is the latest branch of Vineyard Churches UK which is bringing its unique style to Bar 121 in Dover Street, Canterbury.
Group leader Jim Denison said: “We are a recently-formed church which aims to provide a modern and contemporary form of worship which is relevant to this day and age while still upholding the traditional principles of the Christian faith.
“It used to be that the public would come to church, but we recognise that sometimes entering a church building or service can be intimidating and some people are happier in a cafe, bar or pub."
