"Life-threatening" injuries after rush hour accident

A 10-year-old boy is fighting for his life after he was knocked off his bike when he collided with a truck on Sturry Road, Canterbury, yesterday afternoon.

The accident happened at 4.10pm at the junction with Reed Avenue.

He suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the QEQM hospital in Margate before being transferred to a London hospital.

The road was closed for five hours while crash investigators examined the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information can call 01622 798538.
