A bathroom fire which filled a house full of smoke is thought to have been started by a lit candle.
Fire crews rushed to extinguish the blaze in New Dover Road, Canterbury this afternoon.
They found the home clogged with smoke and a person was treated by medics.
The fire is believed to have been caused by an unattended lit candle which set fire to a blind.
The incident, which fire crews dealt with within 20 minutes shortly after midday, has resulted in a warning from safety manager Rob Groombridge.
He said: "This highlights the need to take particular care if you are using candles at home.
"Ensure candles are placed in a heatproof holder away well away from window sills, curtains, blinds and other items that could catch fire.
"Always make sure the candle is fully extinguished after use, or if you have to leave the room, and ensure you have working smoke alarms fitted on each floor of you home to provide early warning in the event of a fire."
