A man in his 20s has fallen from the roof of a residential building prompting a major emergency response.
The young man has been airlifted to King's College Hospital in London with serious injuries.
He fell from a building at the Old Tannery flats in Drying Shed Lane, near the centre of Canterbury, at about 12.30pm.
Police, fire and ambulance services are at the scene, and an air ambulance is understood to have landed in nearby Victoria Memorial Recreation Ground.
The fire service was called to the scene by police at about 12.15pm.
A fire service spokesman said: "Crews were on standby to support the police in dealing with a potential rescue, eventually being called upon to provide first aid and screening for the preservation of dignity of a casualty."
The ambulance service and Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance also attended, and treated the man for serious injuries before rushing him to hospital.
