Police have closed the busy A28 between Canterbury and Ashford after a JCB overturned when it rain into tailbacks from an earlier accident.
Officers sealed off both lanes and put diversions in place after they were called to the scene near Chilham shortly after 9.30 this morning.
A photo sent in by a KoL reader shows the stricken vehicle on its side.
According to police, traffic was queuing on the Canterbury-bound carriageway due to an earlier accident in which a car had hit the roadside and was awaiting recovery.
The JCB tractor, also travelling in the Canterbury direction, then also hit the roadside.
No injuries have been reported.
