Man ‘punched to the ground and stamped on’ in Canterbury street attack

A man was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries after being punched to the ground and stamped on in a late-night street attack.

The man, aged in his 40s, was in the The Friars area of Canterbury when the alleged assault took place at about 11.40pm on Friday.

Police say a male suspect accompanied by a woman walked off along the high street in the direction of Westgate Towers.

Officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the force on 01843 222289 and quote reference 46/215466/24.
