A man has been charged with allegedly carrying out a hate crime in a Kent high street.
Police were called to Canterbury city centre on Tuesday following a report a man had been assaulted twice.
The incidents are alleged to have happened in St George's Street and in a bakery.
Ben Tilling, of Tivoli Road, Hounslow, was arrested and charged with two counts of racially aggravated assault, and two accounts of assault by beating.
The 42-year-old appeared in court yesterday and was bailed.
The case will next be heard at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on June 25.
No injuries were reported during the incidents.
