A man has been arrested after a police chase ended ended in a multi-vehicle crash near Canterbury.
A Seat Ibiza failed to stop for police yesterday, resulting in the chase that saw the driver hospitalised.
The chase began on the A28 and eventually ended on Sturry Road, where the Seat crashed into three cars before eventually stopping.
Eyewitnesses saw the chase come to an end near the Esso Garage at around 3.25pm.
The driver was treated for injuries and taken to a local hospital where he remains in a stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident come forward.
A police spokesman said: "At around 2.50pm on Saturday 2 November 2019, a Seat Ibiza failed to stop for officers on the A28 when indicated to do so.
"A short pursuit was terminated due to concerns for the safety of other road users.
"The Seat was then involved in a collision with another police patrol and it continued onto Sturry Road, where there was a further collision with three cars before the Seat came to a stop.
"The Seat driver was treated for injuries by the South East Coast Ambulance Service and has been taken to a local hospital where he remains in a stable condition."
A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop for a police officer when required.
