A man was smashed over the head with a bottle after challenging a fellow train passenger who was not wearing a face mask.
The shocking incident saw the victim approach the man on a train travelling from London St Pancras to Ramsgate, and ask why he was not wearing a face covering and why he was playing loud music.
The man then turned his music off, put on a face covering, and walked away from the victim.
But when they got off the train at Canterbury West, the man picked up a bottle in the station's car park, hit the victim on the back of the head with it and ran away.
The victim suffered a large cut to the back on his head, which required medical treatment.
British Transport Police have today released a CCTV image of a man they are hoping to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened shortly after 10pm on Thursday, May 20.
Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.
