A man has been charged with causing the death of a teenage boy in a horror crash on the Thanet Way.

Gareth Jones, 48, is set to appear in court later this month accused of causing the death of 16-year-old Tom Brenchley by careless driving.

Former Archbishops School pupil Tom, of Hernhill, died in hospital after his moped collided with a Volvo on the A299 near Dargate on July 29.

Jones, of Hill View Road, Whitstable, was charged on Thursday (January 6) and will appear before Canterbury magistrates on January 25.
