Paramedics have lost a battle to save the life of a 71-year-old man following a crash on the A28 near Canterbury.
The pensioner was in a campervan which veered off the road and hit a post in Island Road, Upstreet.
It happened shortly before 10am and emergency services, including an air ambulance raced to the scene.
The driver is believed to have suffered a 'medical episode' at the wheel which may have caused the loss of control.
The road remained open while the victim was treated at the scene. It is not thought any other vehicle was involved.
