Man found dead in woodland opposite One Stop shop in Tenterden Drive, Canterbury

A man's body has been found in woodland after police descended on the area.

Officers were seen guarding the cordon on the corner of Tenterden Drive and The Terrace in Canterbury's Hales Place estate this morning.

They were called to the scene, opposite the One Stop convenience store, shortly after 10am.

But tragically it has been confirmed a man in his 60s was found dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called to a report of concern for a man at just after 10.05am today.

"Officers attended Tenterden Drive in Canterbury where it was confirmed a man in his 60s had died.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner."

Police were seen extending the cordon to cover a wider area at about 11am.

A private ambulance and forensics were also seen arriving at the scene today.
