Man charged after early morning Canterbury shop raid

A man has been charged after more than £400 worth of clothing was swiped from a city centre shop.

Police were called to Blacks in Burgate near Butchery Lane, Canterbury, after it was broken into during the early hours of November 5.

Officers launched an investigation after a window was damaged and clothing worth about £420 was taken from the store.

Wayne Milburn, 35, of no fixed address, was charged with one count of burglary yesterday and remains in custody.

He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court via virtual link today.
