Police appeal after man put in headlock and punched repeatedly by group of men in unprovoked attack in The Cuban bar, High Street, Canterbury

Police have issued a CCTV image after a man was put in a headlock and repeatedly punched during an unprovoked attack at a Canterbury nightspot.

Officers were called to The Cuban in the High Street at 2am on October 28 after the victim was hit in the face.

The victim, a 19-year-old from Canterbury, had been in the bar with his girlfriend when a group of three men tried talking to her.

When she spurned them, they turned on the victim and put him in a headlock while another man punched him several times to the face.

The suspects then left. The victim suffered swelling to his nose and was treated at hospital.

PC Bob McLean said: "We have carried out a number of enquiries and now have an image of someone we would like to speak to.
