A man was freed from the wreckage of his mangled car following an accident in Faversham early this morning.

Two fire engines attended the scene at Selling Road where a driver was pinned in his vehicle, using hydraulic cutting equipment to peel off the car's roof.

No other vehicles were believed to be involved in the incident which occurred just after 6.30am and the casualty, who has not been identified, was taken to hospital by ambulance. His condition is not known.
