Canterbury: Man taken to London hospital after alleged assault

A man was rushed to a London hospital after he walked into a Minor Injuries Unit with a chest wound after he was reportedly assaulted.

Doctors in the unit at Kent and Canterbury Hospital called for assistance from paramedics and the air ambulance team after seeing the extent of the man’s injuries.

South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman Rich Airey said: “Someone had turned up with a chest wound which appeared to be from an assault.

“We attended with the air ambulance road team and took the patient to the Kings College Hospital.”

Police spokesman James Walker said: ”Concerns for a man’s welfare were reported to police at 2.19pm on Tuesday, December 15.

”Officers attended the Kent and Canterbury Hospital and our enquiries are ongoing.”
