Man's jaw broken in park assault

A 22-year-old man suffered a fractured jaw after he was assaulted in a public park.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in Dane John Gardens at Canterbury on Wednesday, January 31.

The victim, from Dover, was with two friends when they got into a dispute with another group over a beer can being thrown.

Among those in the group was an Afro-Caribbean man, thought to be aged aged 20 or 21, who had a goatee beard and black gelled short hair. He was wearing a blue waist-length padded jacket.

A woman, also described as Afro-Caribbean, aged 18 or 19, of slim build wearing white tracksuit bottoms and a white hooded jacket was also in the group.

Another man is said to have joined the group later. He had a brown Staffordwhire Bull Terrier type dog with him.

A mobile telephone was also stolen during the incident.
