Fixing the district’s potholes is no job for dogs, but these three gave it a good go.
Owner Jo Watson photographed her inquisitive pet pooches Lily, Daisy and Dougal as they snooped around the huge crater in Wenderton Lane, Wingham.
The cavity, which is getting bigger and bigger by the day, began to appear after the recent cold snap.
It is now so large rabbits have made themselves a new home inside.
As well as attracting attention from Ms Watson’s dogs, the newly formed burrow is proving to be a danger for passing drivers.
But Kent County Council says the funds available for road repairs are getting smaller.
An authority spokesman said: “We are currently undertaking a pothole blitz where local contractors are targeting potholes across the 12 districts of Kent.
"These particular repairs have been carried out to ensure the road remains safe for all users and we acknowledge that resurfacing roads would be the desired solution.
“However, with the limited and decreasing funds KCC has available for highway maintenance and repair, we have to carefully prioritise the works to ensure the most benefit to Kent’s road network overall.
“We prioritise potholes according to how unsafe they’re making the road and subsequently not all potholes are a priority.”
