Men charged after sheep attacks

Two men have been charged after 20 sheep died when they were attacked by dogs.

John Arlott, 41, of Pine Tree Avenue, Canterbury, is accused of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control in a public place and owning a dog that has worried livestock between January 9 and 10.

Robert McEwan, 45, of Badgers Close, Blean, is charged with allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control in a public place and owning a dog that has worried livestock between January 14 and 15.

The offences are alleged to have happened at the junction of Downs Road and St Stephen’s Road, Canterbury.

Both men are due to appear before magistrates in Canterbury on Wednesday, April 1.

Two rams and 18 ewes died or had to be destroyed following the two incidents.
