A Kent MP has this evening announced they are isolating after testing positive for Covid-19.
Rosie Duffield, who represents Canterbury at Westminster, made the announcement via her Twitter account to her 42,400 followers.
The Labour parliamentarian tweeted: "Sadly, I've joined a growing list of MPs who've tested positive for Covid-19 so I'll be isolating and taking regular PCR tests."
Ms Duffield went on to say there are now "many cases" of the virus being detected among people at Westminster, and she urged the Prime Minister to lead by example by wearing a mask.
In response to a reply from a well-wisher, she said her team would contact everyone she had met at constituency events on Friday.
Last week Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer was forced to miss the Budget debate and PMQs after he also tested positive.
