A museum has been shut for two days due to a fire alarm system fault caused by a power surge.
The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge in Canterbury High Street was affected by the surge on Tuesday that saw large swathes of the city temporarily lose power.
The museum and gallery revealed on its social media pages yesterday that it was closed "due to unforeseen circumstances", and today it announced it remains shut while the issue persists.
A spokesman for the city council, which runs The Beaney, explained this afternoon: "A power surge in the city on Tuesday caused a fault with the fire alarm system and we can't reopen the building to the public until it's resolved.
"We're working as fast as we can to fix it."
