AN ACOUSTIC guitar and a session in a recording studio have been donated to help boost the fund-raising of an award winning children's road safety charity.

Yamaha Music School, County Music and Independent Music Productions have teamed up to provide an exciting prize package for the charity element of the Kent Messenger Group's staff awards.

This year's KMGroup staff awards, due to be held at Gillingham Football Club's Priestfield Stadium, will support the Kent Walking Bus Project though the raffle on the night.

The awards recognise the hard work and innovation of staff through all parts of the business.

The music package being provided as one of the star raffle prizes will give the winner a Dreadnought acoustic guitar and case, as well as an hour session in the recording studios of Independent Music Productions, based in the offices of Yamaha Music School, Wincheap.

The winner will be able to cut their own disc using either the vocal booth or live room for music performers, all controlled by Phil Wilson and his fully equipped recording studio.

Alternatively the recording session can be used to record children in a family singing songs and reciting nursery rhymes for a lovely memento as a Christmas gift.

James Wilford from Yamaha Music School predicts the Dreadnought acoustic guitar, which retails at £99 and is suited for rock and pop music, will be his top selling guitar this Christmas.

Along with the Stagg drum kit, retailing at £200, his other prediction for top presents will be software enabling music lovers to turn their home PC into a mini recording studio.
