The new precentor of Canterbury Cathedral is the Rev David Mackenzie Mills who will have responsibility to arrange and take part in the daily services.

Mr Mackenzie Mills has been chaplain at Trinity College, Cambridge, for the last five years.

The Dean of Canterbury Cathedral, the Very Rev Robert Willis said: “We are delighted with this appointment and look forward to welcoming David into the Cathedral’s community.

“The number and variety of services at the Cathedral gets more complex and I look forward to working with David in organising worship for the many thousands of pilgrims who visit the Cathedral each year.”

In his spare time, David enjoys teaching the art of baking bread and is a keen amateur canoeist.
