A former Beaverbrooks which has sat empty for four years is set to be replaced by a new jewellery shop.
Lovisa is hoping to open its first Kent store in the unit in St George’s Street, Canterbury, on the corner of Whitefriars shopping centre.
The firm, which was set up in 2010 and has more than 30 stores across the UK, has applied for placed planning permission to put up new signage there.
Beaverbrooks shut in June 2019 after 25 years in the city, with the closure attributed to “a number of factors” following a review of its performance.
The new jewellery and accessories store will offer free piercing with the purchase of Lovia studs.
The brand specialises in a range earrings, necklaces, rings, and bracelets.
No official opening date has been set but the company is already recruiting staff on job-seeking websites.
