PUPILS from Davington Primary School cut the ribbon to open Faversham’s new Sainsbury’s store on Wednesday.
The new supermarket in Bysing Wood Road has created 140 jobs and features a deli and food to go, meat, fish and bakery counters, as well as a pizza bar. Electrical, stationery, entertainment and toy ranges as well as the popular TU clothing are also on sale.
Store manager Richard Easton, who lives in Sittingbourne, said the 28,300 sq ft supermarket would increase food shopping choice locally by providing a variety of Sainsbury’s ranges, including the popular basics, Taste the Difference, Be Good to Yourself, So Organic, Freefrom and Fairtrade.
He said: “Sainsbury’s Faversham is looking forward to supporting the local community, too, and it has already built strong relationships with local businesses, organisations and charities.”
