A popular nightclub in Canterbury city centre is to reopen as a new late night bar following an ambitious £150,000 overhaul.
Chill nightclub will close its doors for the final time "in a blaze of glory" after the Bank Holiday weekend before relaunching next month.
Bosses will resurrect the venue as Steinbeck and Shaw, a "stylish venue with a stripped back, raw contemporary feel that exploits the existing architecture".
General manager Ian Holmes is reported as saying: "Steinbeck's will primarily be a great place to party, with 21 pre-bookable booths, tables and private areas.
"Outstanding levels of customer service will be provided by our talented team of hosts and hostesses, guaranteeing a fun and memorable night out."
Steinbeck and Shaw will open in St George's Place on September 18, creating an extra 20 jobs.
The team has been teasing the launch with a series of posts on Twitter and Facebook and the bar is currently recruiting for positions including bar staff and hosts and hostesses.
The new club will reportedly also focus on creating "memorable birthday experiences" offering energetic party music, vocal dance tunes and commercial chart topping RnB.
Mr Holmes added: "At Steinbeck & Shaw it's all about the experience and we want talented people to deliver that experience.
"As part of our service philosophy, we're looking for people to join our team that have a real passion for customer service and entertainment."
A statement on Chill's Facebook page read: "Some of you may have heard the rumours that Chill is closing down.
"Well, we can confirm that the rumours are indeed TRUE, and that after seven years of partying with you, Chill will be opening its doors for the last time for a huge Bank Holiday Weekend send-off on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August.
"So let's make the most of the time we have left and go out in a blaze of glory."
Interested candidates in a job at Steinbeck and Shaw should send their CV to ian.holmes@delticgroup.co.uk or call the venue on 01227 761276.
