One person was hurt in a two-car crash on the A2 at Canterbury on Saturday morning.

The collision happened on the coastbound carriageway near Wincheap just after 3am.

Police, fire and ambulances services were called to the incident. Kent Police spokesman Nicola Forman said: “One person reported injuries and one of the cars was smoking.”

The road was closed to allow recovery of the vehicles and it was reopened just after 6.20am. The extent of the injuries is not known.
