GOVERNORS and academics have fallen out over the issue of same sex civil partnerships being allowed to take place at Canterbury Christ Church University.
The University has a licence for marriages and civil partnerships to take place at the Priory in the city.
Prof Tony Booth, University and College Union branch equality officer, has spoken of "outrage" among academic staff that civil partnerships are banned from the University's grounds.
University vice-chancellor Prof Michael Wright said the governing body was "discussing its future policy" and will make a final decision after its March meeting.
